The parvocalanus crassirostris are copepods for fish reproduction and for seeding an aquarium.
All the progress of the last years in reproduction comes from these copepods, like synchiropus, dwarf angels, surgeons fish and many others. This small copepod is an excellent substitute for the use of brachionus plicatilis.
Instruction to start your own culture:
For the culture of this copepod, a culture of phytoplankton Isochrysis gabana is essential. Add the 250 ml bottle to a gallon of salt water. Add enough Isochrysis to slightly tint the color of the water. Too many phytoplankton could stress the copepods, preventing them from eating. With an air pump, add 1 to 2 bubbles per second, no more. If your Isochrysis culture becomes green, there is no impact for the copepod.
